Sarah The Cat

The cat went here and there

We are mourning the loss of our family cat, Sarah-moot. She died the night of April 29, 2009. She was curious and playful, snuggly and beautiful. She was hit by a car and we miss her. Here are some pictures to show how much she was a part of our family for a year and a few months.

December 2007. Esther loved Sarah from the beginning. Sarah was a birthday present for a girl turning 6. She was a rescue kitty found in a box outside a Wal-Mart. We adopted her from the Furry Friends Animal Sanctuary, a good organization that places animals in foster homes until they are adopted.


January 2008. Esther was sure Sarah wanted to go outside and see the snow. Sarah explored everything with Esther.


Fall 2008. Sarah grew into a pretty white cat with dark ears, a soft brown back, and big blue eyes. Sarah liked to curl up in her pink bed and watch the action outside the window. The birds at the feeder were especially exciting viewing.


December 2008. Esther is crazy about cats. (see Halloween to remember the cat-o-lantern and kitty costume.) This birthday she chose a cat cake.


Christmas 2008. Even though Sarah knew The Rules, we still caught her being naughty sometimes. She couldn't resist being in on the action--here she is lounging on the table while we were trying to frame a print.


Easter 2009. Sarah was always there--slipping through a door, peeking her head through the shower curtain, meowing outside the bedroom door,curling up on a lap, and, as in this picture, exploring the yard. She was in the background of our daily family life.


Spring 2009. Here is the last picture taken with Sarah, doing what she did best. Getting into the middle of things, eager for a purr and a snuggle.
